It's time for part 2 of the Thrawn trilogy, Dark Force Rising by Timothy Zahn! We've tweaked the show format a little to keep things streamlined and focused on Luke, and it pays off with some great character exploration in this middle chapter of a larger story. We have a special holiday segment dedicated to spooky Star Wars in honor of Halloween, and we answer a listener question. Oh, and Jesse almost makes Mike's brain shut down at the end by making him choose The Old Republic or the New Jedi Order... tune in to see how Mike escapes!

There's a lot of great discussion about the book that essentially started the old Expanded Universe (now known as Legends). We also talk about our excitement for The Mandalorian (Mike admits he was maybe wrong!), preview a little of Resistance, and express our disappointment about Chuck Wendig's firing.

This week we talk about 1994's The Courtship of Princess Leia! Though this is centered on the um, unusual way that Han and Leia finally get married, there is some important stuff about Luke as well. We also talk about Solo, and call out some fake fandoms. Unfortunately we forgot to address the video by the new Leia voice actress - let's leave it at she's kind of an awful person and hopefully Leia is recast if there's ever a Resistance season 2.

It's taken us almost a month to get through it, but we've finally finished our Heir to the Jedi episode! This week it's Jesse who's slinging hot takes, we talk about some bad #StarWars physics, a budget conscious quest-giving Admiral Ackbar, and a band that only a deathstick-loving Sleazebaggano would love - Hakko Drazlip & the Tootle Froots! ...it gets weird, people.
